Mustang, OK — December 16, 2025 — Local teen Jaylen Terrell has launched Bake It Forward, a youth-led nonprofit dedicated to teaching disadvantaged youth how to bake and use creativity to build confidence and community.
Bake It Forward operates under fiscal sponsorship through The Third Space Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization that supports grassroots initiatives.
To celebrate the holiday season, Bake It Forward hosted Oklahoma’s first youth-led Christmas festival on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at Clear Springs Church in Mustang.
The event, organized entirely by local teens from Mustang High School, including Skyler, Steven, Jillian, Melinda, Kamden, Tran, and Isabella, featured improv performances, crafts, games, photo spots with Santa, cookie decorating, and a community raffle. Gio’s Holy Gourmet provided baked goods for purchase, enhancing the cozy, festive atmosphere.
“We wanted to create something that made people smile, feel included, and experience what a community can look like when youth take the lead,” said founder Jaylen Terrell.
Bake It Forward plans to continue hosting community events and begin baking workshops in 2026 to equip youth with practical skills, entrepreneurship, and opportunities to give back.
