OKLAHOMA CITY — A man was killed early Sunday in what police believe was an exchange of gunfire following a fight at a northwest Oklahoma City home.
Patrol officers with the Oklahoma City Police Department responded around 2:40 a.m. to a shooting at a residence in the 3100 block of North Drexel Court just north of the OKC Fairgrounds.
When they arrived, they found Corey Brown, 41, suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
It is homicide #34 for the City of Oklahoma City in 2025.
Police believe the shooting occurred during a confrontation that escalated into a gunfight.
A second individual involved in the shooting initially fled the scene but later turned himself in. He was arrested on a weapons complaint. Police did not give the name of the person arrested.
Detectives said the case will be presented to the Oklahoma County District Attorney’s Office for potential charges.
Police said the investigation is ongoing and in its early stages.
