Victim identified in NW OKC convenience store death

OKLAHOMA CITY — A female clerk who was stabbed to death Friday in a 7-11 convenience store in NW OKC has been identified by police.

UPDATE — (3:32 PM, Tuesday, Oct. 22) OKCPD is reporting that suspect Anthony Gonzalez, 23, has been arrested in the 8600 block of NW 84th Street. Gonzalez will be booked later today on complaints of “robbery and murder in the first degree,” according to Sgt. Dillon Quirk with the Oklahoma City Police Department.

Jaedynn Anthony, 18, was found with stab wounds by customers who came to the store at Wilshire and N. Council Road in the dark early hours of Friday, October 18. 

In response to the customers’ 911 calls, patrol officers were dispatched to the store around 2:45 AM according to the press release from Sgt. Quirk.

When they arrived, they found Anthony with stab wounds “consistent with homicide.”Police pronounced her dead while still at the store as we reported on Friday in this previous reporting:

Investigation underway

This death is counted as homicide #71 for the City of Oklahoma City in 2024.

As their investigation started, detectives saw video of one person entering the store and stabbing Jaedynn Anthony, then “fleeing on foot,” according to a press release from Sgt. Dillon Quirk with OKCPD.

UPDATE — The following image is a freezeframe from security camera video in the store as posted to OKCPD social media. Detectives believe this is the individual who committed the crime.

No guards were posted, and Anthony was the only employee in the store at the time.

At publication, there have been no arrests made.
