MARCH OF THE TREES

A Winter Solstice Celebration

Free community celebration, open to all ages.

On the longest night of the year, Factory Obscura invites you to let go of the past and set intentions for the future at the March of the Trees Winter Solstice Celebration!

Illuminate the dark night with light and costume! Participants are invited to dress as trees – holiday trees, butterfly trees, forest trees, trees of life, any tree you choose.

Gather with us at 5:30pm as the sun sets on Automobile Alley. Last minute light and costume additions will be available! Enjoy live music by Planet 9 on the sidewalk as we gather.

The March of The Trees will set off promptly at 6:00pm to march our way through Automobile Alley, spreading the light and will end the evening with live performance and a Solstice Ceremony at Factory Obscura’s MIX-TAPE (25 NW 9th Street). You are also invited to walk the labyrinth, set intentions for new things in your life, and watch those you wish to let go turn to ash.

Need help with your costume? A FREE costume-making day is happening on Saturday, December 16, 3-5pm.

Originally presented in Summer 2023 and back by popular demand, this temporary immersive experience takes you on a sound and light odyssey through the heart of a star and back again.

Join Factory Obscura as we say a final goodbye to Cosmic Callback on Saturday, January 6. This one-night-only experience features live sound performance by the sound design team (Dan Moyer, Lindsey Cox, and Nikolas Thompson) along with a collaboration with RACE Dance Collective.
