The South Oklahoma City Chamber of Commerce held its Annual Banquet at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum, presented by AT&T. The event served as the installation for the South Oklahoma City Chamber’s 2025 Board of Directors. Outstanding individuals in the community were also honored for their contributions in 2024, including:
- Native Oklahoman Award, presented to Derek Loccident, a world-class Paralympic athlete. Loccident’s determination and perseverance have led him to great success, earning two silver medals at the 2024 Paris Paralympic Games in High Jump T64 and Long Jump T64, along with multiple medals at the 2024 World Championships. Chair of the Board of Directors, Ryan Cross, Derek Loccident, and Jeff Kretchmar, Chair Elect of the Board of Directors. Chickasaw Nation, award sponsor.
- The Emeritus Club 2024 inductees: Brian Maughan accepting on behalf of Larry McAtee, Todd Stone, Melvonna Schneider, Bill Moore, Jon Echols, and John and Lacey Hermansen accepting on behalf of Eric Hermansen. Kay Floyd, Jamie Crowe, Janet Fanning accepted on behalf of Paul Gordon Summars, David Echols who also accepted on behalf of Eileen Echols, and Rosa and Justin Bryne accepting on behalf of Emma and Pete Cordova.
- End of the Trail Award, presented by Elaine Lyons, Chamber President, to 2024 Chair of the Board, Brandi Mertens.
- Ambassador of the Year Award, presented by Jeff Kretchmar on behalf of GEICO OKC South, to Marla Robinson Grit Resources, Ryan Alexander, Grit Resources, and Jamie Crowe, Membership Director of the South Oklahoma City Chamber.
- Volunteer of the Year Award, presented by Jeremy Sparks, Dignity Memorial, to Karissa Suchy, First United Bank.
- Citizen of the Year Award, presented to Jan Peery, by Glenda Montiel, COX Business.
- Ten-Year Service Award, to Jamie Crow, South Oklahoma City Chamber of Commerce Membership Director.
