PRESS RELEASE: Residents, business owners invited to NE 23rd St. Enhancement Project meeting Sept. 12

The City of OKC sends this information as posted below:

Business owners, residents and community organizers are invited to a community meeting to discuss the NE 23rd Street Enhancement Project from 6-7:30 p.m. on Sept. 12 at Metro Tech Springlake Campus, 1900 Springlake Dr.

This corridor construction project will enhance NE 23rd Street from Kelley Avenue to Miramar Boulevard through improved safety, accessibility and streetscapes. The meeting is an opportunity for the community to offer their input on the project and discuss the overall vision for the corridor.

“NE 23rd Street is an important corridor for our city,” Ward 7 Councilwoman Nikki Nice said. “This project creates a significant opportunity for our community to enhance the way we view and better connect this historic street. With other areas throughout our city that have created successful street enhancement projects, I expect this project to address community needs and spark great ideas and input from residents and stakeholders, while bettering the growth and opportunities for those who live, work and travel along this corridor.”

The NE 23rd Street Enhancement Project is funded by the Better Streets, Safer City sales tax initiative and seeks to create a safer environment for all who live, work and visit the area.

Property and business owners along the corridor are meeting with consultants in early September to provide feedback and learn about the proposed enhancements.
