Putnam City North High School’s (PCN) Orchestra has been selected to compete in the prestigious American String Teachers Association (ASTA) National Orchestra Festival. This elite event showcases the top high school orchestras in the country, and PCN Orchestra has earned a spot in the highly competitive Top String Orchestra division. PCN Orchestra will compete in Atlanta, Georgia, on March 20th.
We are thrilled that the PCN Orchestra will compete in the Top String Orchestra division. This extraordinary honor is reserved for the finest orchestras in the nation, and PCN is one of only 20 orchestras selected. PCN Orchestra will represent Oklahoma and Putnam City Schools to the fullest on the national stage.
To qualify, orchestras must submit performance recordings, a detailed repertoire selection, and a comprehensive program overview. They must also receive recommendation letters from renowned orchestra conductors, demonstrating their excellence in musical performance and education.
