OKLAHOMA CITY (August 30, 2024) – Prevention and Recovery in the Park Event to Promote Community Well-being and Substance Use Prevention in Oklahoma City
DCCCA, a local non-profit dedicated to improving lives, in partnership with the coalition, SUPA (Substance Use Prevention Alliance) is proud to host the 5th annual “Prevention and Recovery in the Park” event, a community gathering dedicated to promoting healthy families, supporting substance use prevention, treatment, and recovery. The event will take place on Saturday, September 7th, from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Scissortail Park on the Great Lawn.
The “Prevention and Recovery in the Park” event aims to bring together community organizations and individuals who are passionate about fostering a healthier, happier, and drug-free environment.
Event Highlights & Free Activities:
• Lawn Games.
• Food Trucks
• Raffle Prizes
• Booths with activities, resources, and giveaways.
• 500 resource bags with Naloxone (Narcan), medication disposal bags, & lock bags • Exciting activities for children and youth
• A moment of silence to honor and remember those who have tragically lost their lives to drug overdose.
This event offers an excellent platform for community members, leaders, and organizations to come together and strengthen their commitment to addressing substance use issues and promoting positive change within Oklahoma City.
