PRESS RELEASE: OKC’s Household Hazardous Waste Collection Center closed Sept. 26


The City of OKC sends this information as posted below:


Oklahoma City’s Household Hazardous Waste Collection Center will be closed Thursday, Sept. 26, for maintenance and will reopen Friday, Sept. 27.

The Household Hazardous Waste Collection Center at 1621 S Portland Ave. accepts a variety of hazardous materials from residents’ homes year-round. Products accepted at the center include gasoline, automotive fluids, batteries, pesticides, weed killers, pool chemicals and paint-related items.

The center’s hours are Tuesday through Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m.

The Household Hazardous Waste Collection Center is operated by the Storm Water Quality Division of the Public Works Department. Visit okc.gov/hhw for a list of materials the center accepts. For more information, call (405) 682-7038.
