Oklahoma City Parks & Recreation has a summer packed with summer camps for students ages 6-17. Camps are already filling up, so be sure to snag your child’s spot. Go to okc.gov/parks and click “Browse Programs.”

Explorers Camps
Our one-week Explorers Camp is full of games, activities and field trips throughout Oklahoma City. Each week includes camp games and tournaments, arts programming, a visit to RIVERPSPORT, two swimming trips, and a specialty field trip based on the weekly theme.

Camp hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Registration is $135 per week and open to ages 6-12. All classes will start and end at Macklanburg Community Center, 2234 NW 117th St. For more information, contact Roy Blevins at roy.blevins@okc.gov or (405) 202-8640.

Outdoor Adventure Camps
Calling all adventure seekers. Are you ready for adventures around OKC to experience the wonders the great outdoors has to offer? This camp features archery, hiking, fishing, rock climbing, kayaking, and more. At least one outing is planned for every day.

Camp hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Registration is $185 per week. The first camp will be June 9-13 for ages 13-14. The ages 8-12 waitlist is full for this camp. The second camp will be July 7-11 for ages 13-14. The waitlist ages 8-12 is full for this camp. Performing Arts Camps
Our two-week camps cover all the theater basics, including warm-ups, games, terminology, etiquette, auditions, choreography and acting, all in preparation for a final performance.

Camp hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Each two-week session is $230. All sessions will be at Northwest Optimist Performing Arts Center, 3301 NW Grand Blvd.

Skateboard Clinics
This clinic is open to all levels, including brand new skaters. We will focus on the foundations of basic safety and skatepark etiquette with personalized development. Students and instructors will work together to master tricks ranging from simple to advanced. Helmets are required and safety gear highly encouraged.

Registration is $100 for each one-week clinic. Each session will be from 9 to 11 a.m. at Stars & Stripes Park, 3701 S Lake Hefner Dr. The first clinic will be June 2-4 and is open to youth ages 6-12 and teens ages 13-17. Youth Artists Camp
Unleash your child’s inner Picasso or Monet in our hands-on and creative week-long Youth Artist Camp. This camp is for young artists who are ready to learn the basics of art, including instruction in painting with watercolor, painting with acrylics, molding 3D objects with clay and the principles of art. We will be working in conjunction with the Oklahoma City Arts Council to bring life to your child’s imagination this summer.

Camp hours are 8 a.m. to noon at Macklanburg Community Center, 2234 NW 117th St. Registration is $75 and open to ages 6-12. Two camps are planned: June 23-27 and July 21-25.

KIK It Up! Cooking Camp
This program encourages kids to eat healthier snacks and exercise more through engaging activities. Participants will discover simple, practical recipes that they can prepare for themselves and their family.

Camp hours are 1 to 5 p.m. at Macklanburg Community Center, 2234 NW 117th St. Registration is $30 and open to ages 6-12. Two camps are planned: June 23-27 and July 21-25.

Kidz Rock
Designed for adventure, learning, and nonstop fun, Kidz Rock offers a wide variety of exciting activities and field trips to some of Oklahoma City’s favorite outdoor spots, including Martin Nature Park, Will Rogers Gardens, the Oklahoma City Zoo, the H.B. Parsons Fish Hatchery, and more. Lunch and snacks are provided daily through the Oklahoma City Regional Food Bank.

Kidz Rock is $10 per month and open to ages 6-12. Hours are 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday at three locations this summer:

  • Minnis Lakeview Community Center, 12520 NE 36th St.: JuneJuly, and August.
  • Pitts Community Center, 1920 N Kate Ave.: JuneJuly, and August.
  • Southern Oaks Community Center, 400 SW 66th St.: August.
    • June and July registration and waitlists are full.
