Local artist Scott Henderson is completing work on an enormous 1,500-square-foot mural titled “Rooted in Strength, Striving in Wellness” on a large indoor pool wall at the MAPS 4 Senior Health and Wellness Center in NE OKC. The mural is based on the six dimensions of wellness: physical, emotional, intellectual, social, spiritual and occupational.
Scott Henderson is a professional artist, designer, and muralist with over two decades of experience creating large-scale public artworks that celebrate place, story, and community. Scott brings a collaborative, people-first approach to design, crafting visually engaging works deeply rooted in cultural identity.
Beyond institutional work, Scott has created over 50 murals across Oklahoma and the U.S., focusing on storytelling through bold color, layered graphics, and thoughtful symbolism. He believes murals should not just beautify but uplift, educate, and connect people to shared histories. Scott’s work is grounded in respect, curiosity, and a belief in the power of art to inspire and reflect the heart of a community.
