PRESS RELEASE: Councilperson James Cooper to host Ward 2 meet-up Nov. 19

The City of OKC and the office of Councilperson James Cooper send this information as posted below:

Ward 2 residents are invited to a meet-up hosted by Councilperson James Cooper to get an update on topics such as the 2025 GO Bond, MAPS 4Better Streets, Safer CityparksKey to Home and more.

The meet-up will be held from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. Nov. 19 at Oklahoma City University, inside the Tom & Brenda McDaniel University Center, 2501 N Blackwelder Ave.

The first portion of the meeting will include City Manager Craig Freeman, Councilperson Cooper and representatives from The Oak and Kiva. After the presentations, residents can provide input on projects they would like to see included in the 2025 general obligation bond package.

“As the City begins its 2025 GO Bond process, it’s important we hear from neighborhoods,” Councilperson Cooper said. “I’m eager to meet with residents face-to-face and to host an opportunity for folk to connect one-on-one with City of OKC department representatives. This meetup is the perfect opportunity for people to get information about projects happening in Ward 2, share their infrastructure concerns, and weigh in on the 2025 bond program.”

Ward 2 is in the north-central part of Oklahoma City. It is roughly bound by North MacArthur Boulevard on the west, I-235 on the east, NW 23rd Street on the south and West Britton Road on the north.

Councilperson Cooper was elected to City Council in April 2019 and re-elected in 2023.
