PRESS RELEASE: Construction begins on football fields in Edwards Park

Oklahoma City Parks & Recreation sends this information as posted below:

For decades, Edwards Park, 1515 N Bryant Ave., has been home to many youth football programs. Now, the park’s athletic fields are getting some much-anticipated upgrades.

Contractors are scrapping the existing three youth football fields and replacing them with four new football fields that will feature athletic field lighting, irrigation and bleachers.

The park’s Bryant Street entrance will close during construction but will reopen when the fields are complete in early 2025. During construction, visitors must access the park from the North I-35 Service Road on the west side of the park.

The park’s playground, fishing pond and pavilion will remain open during construction.

Funding for the football fields is being paid for through Park Development Impact Fees for northeast OKC.
