OKLAHOMA CITY — A person died early Monday morning after having been booked into the Oklahoma County Detention Center (Jail) a few days before.
He was: Isiah Mitchell, 26

Jail officials said that he was declared dead at the hospital around 1:21 a.m.
A press release from the Jail said that “staff discovered detainee Isiah Mitchell attempting suicide in his cell. A Detention Officer called for medical staff and immediately began life-saving measures.”
EMSA and the Oklahoma City Fire Department arrived around 12:09 a.m. “and continued life-saving measures.” EMSA then transported Mitchell to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
He was booked into the Jail by Oklahoma City Police on Friday, Jan. 27, 2023.
Turn Key Health is the contractor for all medical services in the Oklahoma County Jail and Oklahoma State Representative Jon Echols is the co-founder and president.
As with any death in the jail, the State Medical Examiner’s Office will make a final determination as to the cause of death.
