(Oklahoma City, OK) – Oklahoma City Public Schools (OKCPS) is excited to announce the opening of the OKCPS Employee Health Clinic. Made possible by funding through ESSER (https://sites.google.com/okcps.org/okcps-esser/home), the clinic aims to promote the health and well being of district employees.

The clinic is located at the district’s Operations Center and is staffed by licensed healthcare professionals. The clinic will offer health services including diagnostic testing, Department of Transportation physicals, first-aid treatment of injuries such as sprains, strains, minor lacerations and burns, contusions, as well as drug screenings and alcohol testing.

The official grand opening and ribbon cutting took place this morning with district leaders, clinic staff and media partners. Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources, Safety and Security, Brad Herzer said, “OKCPS is proud to offer this benefit to our staff, along with our competitive benefit package. From a recruiting perspective, it helps us attract and retain quality employees by offering free, onsite healthcare.”

Ms. Deborah Lee, Nurse Practitioner, joined Team OKCPS to provide support during the pandemic. OKCPS is excited to have Ms. Lee in this new role to support and care for our nearly 5,000 employees. At the ribbon cutting, she shared her excitement to treat OKCPS staff members and help them quickly feel better and so they can get back to serving our students. She will also be able to complete pre-employment physicals and drug screenings to expedite the onboarding process.

“It’s pretty remarkable that we can offer these health related services to our staff members through a district facility. I am so proud of the work that has gone into getting our brand new employee health clinic set up and ready to see patients,” said Superintendent McDaniel. “It’s important that we take care of our people so that in turn, we can take care of students.”

The clinic operates by appointment only and will be open to serve OKCPS employees at no cost Monday through Friday all year long.
