The Oklahoma City Zoo and Botanical Garden sends this information as posted below:

Oklahoma City’s Adventure District and local businesses, including the Oklahoma City Zoo and Botanical Garden, are teaming up for the OKC Adventure District Job Fair on Wednesday, February 7, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Science Museum Oklahoma.

The OKC Zoo, Science Museum Oklahoma, Cinemark, the Oklahoma City-County Health Department, USA Softball and Remington Park are hiring for spring and summer positions that bring a lot of adventure (and income) to job seekers in the metro. Oklahoma City’s Adventure District, located in northeast Oklahoma City at the crossroads of I-35 and I-44, is home to some of the state’s best tourist and recreational attractions—the perfect place to find an exciting new career path or a part-time job to earn extra income.

“Every day really is an adventure at the Zoo,” said Zoo Guest Experience Director, Dahrenda Mitchell. “With visitors from across the country and around the world, we truly value employees who want a fun and rewarding work experience that has a real impact on conservation and sustainability.”

Part-time positions opening in late January for the OKC Zoo include guest services attendants, ride operators, tram drivers, zipline guides and more, she said. Aspiring team members must be quick-thinking, organized, courteous, knowledgeable, able to follow clear directions, outgoing and friendly. The ability to speak with guests, answer guest questions and provide solutions to problems is essential. “We have many team members who began as part-time employees, fell in love with the Zoo, and turned their passion into careers,” she said.

Admission to the hiring fair is free, though regular admission is required for those who want to stay and explore Science Museum Oklahoma, 2020 Remington Place in Oklahoma City, afterwards.

The Oklahoma City Zoo is in its winter hours and open Thursdays through Mondays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily with the last entry no later than 4 p.m., and closed to the public on Tuesdays and Wednesdays through February 7, 2024. Purchase advance Zoo admission tickets at okczoo.org/tickets and avoid the entry lines. Located at the crossroads of I-44 and I-35, the OKC Zoo is a proud member of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums, the American Alliance of Museums, and Oklahoma City’s Adventure District. Zoo admission is $16 for adults and $13 for children ages 3-11 and seniors ages 65 and over. Children two and under are admitted free. Membership has its perks! As a ZOOfriends member of the Oklahoma City Zoo, enjoy free admission all year-long, plus many additional benefits and discounts. About the Oklahoma City Adventure District

Northeast Oklahoma City is home to some of the state’s most outstanding attractions–all within a 2-mile radius. However, tourists often visited one attraction, not aware that state-of-the-art museums, the state’s premier horse-racing facility or a nationally-renowned zoo were just around the corner.

In 2000, the attractions, in cooperation with Frontier Country Marketing Association, began combining their resources to create a marketing effort promoting the area as an entertainment destination for tourists and local residents. By 2003, the Adventure District was recognized by the City Council of Oklahoma City as an official entertainment district.

Today, more than 3.3 million people visit the District each year, not only to watch a great horse race or softball game but also to visit 2,200 exotic animals, try their luck at the slot machines and see John Wayne paraphernalia. The District comprises a complete vacation getaway for all members of the family.
