Man found dead near tracks in south OKC; homicide suspected

OKLAHOMA CITY — A man was found dead early Monday near railroad tracks in the 2100 block of South McKinley Avenue, and police are investigating the case as a homicide.

The death is being counted as homicide #23 for the City of Oklahoma City in 2025.

Patrol officers with the Oklahoma City Police Department responded at about 2:43 a.m. to a check-the-welfare call reporting a man lying near the tracks. When they arrived, they found the body of Demetree Roberson, 36.

MSgt Gary Knight said in a press release that Roberson had injuries “consistent with homicide.”

No arrests have been made so far. Investigators ask anyone with information to contact the Homicide Tip-Line at 405-297-1200.
