Wednesday, February 14, 2024 (Oklahoma City, OK) – The Latino Community Development Agency (LCDA) is excited to announce its upcoming Voter Registration Event, scheduled for this Saturday, February 17th, 10am-2pm, an effort to register Latino voters ahead of upcoming local, state and national elections. The LCDA and community partners will host the free registration event at the Latino Agency located at 420 SW 10th St., Oklahoma City, OK 73109.

This initiative is part of the LCDA’s ongoing commitment to advocacy, civic engagement, and community empowerment. According to the Pew Research Center, every year about 1.4 million Latinos in the U.S. become eligible to vote. This event will aim to encourage Latino voter registration, provide information about the electoral process, and to emphasize the importance of active participation in our democratic system. This nonpartisan event will invite the community to come out to register to vote and to enjoy a fun time with their families. Thanks to corporate partners Coca Cola, Braum’s and Supermercados Morelos participants will enjoy good food, drinks and family activities.

“It’s crucial for our community to recognize the strength of their voice and the significance of their vote. Activating our community and encouraging voter registration is the first step towards achieving the changes that we seek.” said, Salvador Ontiveros President & CEO LCDA.

The event will consist of voter registration tables, music, food, drinks, giveaways and more. Volunteers will be available to assist attendees with the voter registration process, ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to exercise their right to vote. Experts will share information on the electoral process, highlighting key dates, important deadlines, and the significance of participating in local and national elections.

All community members, regardless of background or affiliation, who are 17 ½ years and older, are invited to attend this very important voter registration drive. Whether you’re a first-time voter or a seasoned participant, this event is an opportunity to connect with your community, exercise your civic duty, and make your voice heard.
