OKLAHOMA CITY — A juvenile has been arrested in the shooting death of a 38-year-old man Monday.
It is being counted by the Oklahoma City Police Department as homicide #11 for the City of Oklahoma City in 2023.
Police were called to 2830 S.W. 59th Street at 9:22 a.m. on reports of a shooting.
When they arrived they found Steffon Smith, 38, had been shot. He was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The next evening, officers interviewed and then arrested a 15-year-old. The juvenile was booked into Berry House Juvenile Detention facility on a complaint of first degree murder. Free Press is not publishing the suspect’s name because they are a juvenile.
