OKLAHOMA CITY — Two people were shot to death in Oklahoma City in two separate incidents Sunday.
The two deaths are being counted by the Oklahoma City Police Department as homicides #11 and #12 for 2025.
Homicide #11
The first shooting death occurred in the dark early hours of Sunday morning.
Patrol officers were dispatched to an apartment complex on a shooting call at 3:04 AM in the 7200 block of NW 122nd.
While they were investigating at the complex, OKCPD received a report of a shooting victim who had been brought by a private vehicle to the ER at Mercy Women’s Center at 4300 W. Memorial Road.
The victim, 16-year-old male Kayden Haywood was pronounced dead at the ER.
Detectives are still trying to determine the cause of the shooting and have made no arrests as of publication.

Then, Sunday night at 10:43 PM, patrol officers responded to a shooting call in the 4300 block of SE 46th St. “where one person had been hit by gunfire,” according to MSgt. Gary Knight with OKCPD.
Responding officers found 16-year-old male Jashaun Cheatom “just outside of an apartment in a breezeway,” said Knight.
Officers had Cheatom transported to OU Medical Center where he died from his wounds.
As in the first case, detectives are still working to determine the motive in the shooting and have made no arrests in the case as of publication.
