Double shooting leaves one OKC teen dead, another under arrest

OKLAHOMA CITY – An exchange of gunfire between two Oklahoma City teenagers has left one dead and another hospitalized in police custody.

At around noon on Monday, June 22nd, OKCPD officers were alerted to reports of a shooting in the 1600 block of E. Hill St., near the intersection of NE 36th St. and Prospect Ave.

By the time officers arrived at the scene, both of the reported victims from the shooting had already been transported to a nearby hospital.

19-year-old Deveon Holt was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Davion Goldsby, also 19 years old, was injured in the shootout as well and remains hospitalized.

Police investigators believe that Holt and Goldsby were involved in an altercation that led to both teens producing firearms and each shooting the other.

Based on that determination, police have placed Goldsby under arrest for first-degree murder and are keeping him in custody at the hospital, where he is still undergoing treatment for gunshot injuries.

The death of Deveon Holt has been recorded as Oklahoma City’s 36th homicide in 2026.

Note: Charges, information, or claims made by law enforcement have not yet been tested in court. Under the law, all persons are considered innocent until proven guilty before a jury of their peers or a plea of guilt.
