South OKC gun death sees no arrests, open investigation

- The killing marks OKC's 25th homicide in 2026.


OKLAHOMA CITY – Police are searching for suspects and motives after a young man was shot to death in a Southwest OKC apartment complex in the early hours of Thursday morning.

Just after 1:30 am on May 7th, Oklahoma City Police were alerted to a shooting at an apartment building near SW 16th St and Westwood Blvd.

At the scene, police found 27-year-old Shemar Wilson suffering from a gunshot wound.

Wilson was taken into surgery at an area hospital, but died just after 3:00am that morning.

That’s all the information that OKC police have released so far, with no arrests made and no suspects identified.
