PRESS RELEASE: Oklahoma Hall of Fame provides free family fun program for Spring Break

The Oklahoma Hall of Fame at the Gaylord-Pickens Museum sends this information as posted below:

OKLAHOMA CITY – MARCH 11, 2026: Oklahoma families searching for entertainment do not have to travel out of state to find spring break fun. The Oklahoma Hall of Fame | Gaylord-Pickens Museum offers three days of free admission and activities for its annual Spring Thing program on March 18, 19, and 20 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Each day of Spring Thing has its own unique theme with crafts, activities, story time, and a featured Oklahoma Hall of Fame Member. Themes include “Wicked Weather”, “Spurred to Greatness”, and “Leave it to Beavers”. In celebration of the spring season, guests can also plant their very own flower to take home.

“Spring Thing is a great, free way for families to spend time playing and learning together,” said Kirsten Therkelson, Oklahoma Hall of Fame Manager of Museum Education. “My favorite part of Spring Thing is the gardening opportunity outside at our flower potting station. The kids’ faces light up when they pick out their flower. Plus, for the parents, getting their hands dirty really brings out their inner child.”

This year, Oklahoma Museums Week coincides with spring break dates for Oklahoma City Public Schools. The Oklahoma Hall of Fame and other museums across the OKC Metro are gearing up to highlight programs and exhibits all week long. Follow along on social media with the Oklahoma Museum Association’s hashtag, #OklahomaMuseumsWeek.

In addition to Spring Thing, the Oklahoma Hall of Fame | Gaylord-Pickens Museum offers free programming once a month for Second OHOF Saturday. Visit the Museum on Saturday, March 14 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. for free admission, crafts, and a lesson about a featured Oklahoma Hall of Fame Member.
