OKLAHOMA CITY (July 3, 2025) — Girl Scouts Western Oklahoma, in partnership with Devon Energy and the Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation, unveiled a new STEM Center at Camp Trivera, a hands-on learning environment designed to inspire girls to explore careers in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM).

The ribbon-cutting ceremony welcomed community leaders, Girl Scouts and partners for a morning of celebration, STEM demonstrations and student-led exploration of the new space.

“This STEM Center represents more than just a room with exciting equipment — it’s a gateway to opportunity,” said Holly York, STEAM specialist at Camp Trivera. “Thanks to the generosity of Devon Energy and the Ripken Foundation, we’re giving girls the tools and confidence to dream bigger and pursue futures in STEM.”

The center is fully outfitted with interactive learning tools such as 3D printers, Snap Circuits, Indi Cars and Bee-Bots — all supported with curriculum guides and training provided by the Ripken Foundation.

“STEM is at the core of Devon’s work and success, and we know how important it is to expose students to these concepts early,” said Catherine Oster, mid-continent asset managerat Devon Energy and former board chair of Girl Scouts Western Oklahoma. “We’re proud to partner in creating a space where girls can explore, lead and build a strong foundation for the future.”

The Ripken Foundation and Devon Energy have installed more than 190 STEM Centers across five states to date. The new space at Camp Trivera reflects the shared commitment of Devon Energy, the Ripken Foundation and Girl Scouts to foster curiosity, confidence and leadership in young women.

“We believe every child deserves access to educational resources that inspire and empower them,” said Elise Lee, senior vice president of resource development at the Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation. “We’re honored to help bring this STEM Center to life for the Girl Scouts at Camp Trivera.”
