OKLAHOMA CITY — The Oklahoma City Police Department is treating the latest shooting death in Oklahoma City as an accident.
Officers with OKCPD were called to St. Anthony Hospital in Midtown Friday, January 13 at 10:32 a.m. when a person was brought by a private vehicle to the emergency room with a gunshot wound.
Lizmanelle Lumpkin, 41, was pronounced dead by hospital staff.
From their initial investigation, police believe that Lumpkin was shot inside the vehicle by “another occupant while they were handling a firearm,” according to a press release.
“The shooting appears to be completely accidental, and no arrests have been made,” said Sgt. Dillon Quirk Tuesday.
