Teen shot dead in Bricktown — police ask public for tips

OKLAHOMA CITY — Police are searching for the person who shot and killed a 17-year-old girl late Tuesday outside a movie theater in Bricktown.

Lyric Lewis was shot around 11:45 p.m. in the 100 block of East Reno Avenue, in front of the Harkins Theater, according to police. She was taken to a hospital in a private vehicle and later pronounced dead.

It remains unclear what led to the shooting, and no arrests have been made by publication.

This makes homicide #36 for the City of Oklahoma City in 2025.

Oklahoma City Police Department detectives believe Lewis was the only person struck by gunfire.

Her death marks another act of violence in Bricktown, which has had festering problems with intermittent crime and disturbances in the last several years.
