Teen in custody after deadly northeast OKC shooting

OKLAHOMA CITY — A 17-year-old female was shot and killed Saturday afternoon inside a home in northeast Oklahoma City, and a male teen suspect has been booked in connection with the shooting.

Police believe Shyanne Crawford, 17, was shot by a 17-year-old male suspect about 2:15 p.m. at a residence near NE 20th Street and Bath Avenue.

This makes homicide #48 for the City of Oklahoma City in 2025.

Patrol officers with the Oklahoma City Police Department were dispatched to 1530 NE 20th St. on a shooting call Saturday.

When they arrived, they found Crawford inside the home. She was taken to OU Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.

The suspect fled the scene on foot but was taken into custody a short time later, according to MSgt Gary Knight with OCPD.

After being interviewed by detectives, he was booked into the Oklahoma County Juvenile Detention Center on a complaint of murder.

Detectives believe Crawford and the suspect were together in the residence when the shooting occurred.
