Suspect in 7-11 clerk stabbing death booked for Murder 1

OKLAHOMA CITY — The suspect in the stabbing death of a 7-11 store clerk in NW OKC was arrested and booked for First Degree Murder on Tuesday.

Anthony Gonzalez was arrested by Oklahoma City Police and U.S. Marshall’s Task Force members in the 8600 block of NW 84th Street in Oklahoma City.

Later in the day, he was booked into the Oklahoma County Detention Center on complaints of First Degree Murder and Robbery or Attempted Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon. The bond has been set for $10 million.

The location where he was arrested is less than a mile from the 7-11 convenience store where Jaedynn Anthony, an 18-year-old female clerk working alone, was stabbed to death around 2:30 AM Friday.

It was homicide #71 in the City of Oklahoma City in 2024.

Wednesday, MSgt. Gary Knight with OKCPD told Free Press that they were able to identify and locate Gonzalez through a Crime Stoppers tip.

“You wouldn’t believe how successful we are catching people through Crime Stoppers because they can remain anonymous. It offers a cash reward and the possibility of one,” said Knight.

The case will be presented to the District Attorney’s Office who will ultimately determine if any charges will be filed.
