The City of Oklahoma City sends this information as posted below:

The City of Oklahoma City’s Waterway Clean Sweep program is recruiting volunteers to remove litter along the Oklahoma River on Saturday, Jan. 10, from 9 to 11 a.m.

Groups, families and individuals are welcome. Register at okc.gov/WaterwayCleanSweep. People can also volunteer for monthly clean-ups throughout the year.

Volunteers will receive safety training, along with gloves, a safety vest and litter grabbers.

Participants are encouraged to wear boots or closed-toe shoes, long pants, long sleeves, sunglasses, and bring their own reusable water bottles.

Volunteer hour verification letters are available upon request.

“Cleaning up the river helps prevent pollution, protects wildlife, and creates a healthier environment for everyone,” Community Relations Coordinator Hollie Thorne said.

Check-in and training will occur at the Wiley Post Park Event Center and Pavilion in Wiley Post Park, 2021 S. Robinson Ave.
