PRESS RELEASE: Temporary lane closures on Melrose Lane for roadway restoration

The City of OKC sends this information as posted below:

Beginning Thursday, Dec. 18, contractors with the OKC Utilities Department will close portions of the eastbound and westbound lanes of Melrose Lane between North Rockwell Avenue and North MacArthur Boulevard to complete roadway restoration following the installation of a new water line.

Business access will be maintained throughout the closure; however, through traffic will not be allowed past the work zone and will be diverted to an alternate route.

The east and westbound lanes are expected to reopen Tuesday, Dec. 23.

Contractors will return to the area on Monday, Jan. 5, to complete the road repairs. At that time, the westbound lane of Melrose Lane from Rockwell to MacArthur will be closed for approximately two weeks. Officials anticipate reopening the westbound lane by Monday, Jan. 19.

Drivers are encouraged to use alternate routes and exercise caution when traveling through the area. Barricades and signage will be in place to guide traffic.
