Oklahoma City Fire sends this information as posted below:
Oklahoma Task Force 1 (OKTF-1) has relocated its search and rescue operations from the Marble Falls area to the hard-hit community of Kerrville, TX, as part of the ongoing response to the catastrophic flooding event impacting Central Texas.
The move was directed by the Water Group Supervisor, who redeployed the team to assist in search efforts. The number of individuals still unaccounted for has now surpassed 160.
OKTF-1 is working in coordination with search teams from Tulsa, including two human remains detection K9s. The combined teams are focusing on areas along the riverbanks where debris piles remain a significant hazard. Using advanced search instruments, the team has identified approximately 85 miles of river to be searched, an estimate that does not fully account for the numerous bends and obstructions in the river’s path.
This next phase of the operation is expected to be both physically demanding and mentally taxing. Despite the challenges, teams from Tulsa and Oklahoma City are operating alongside K9 handlers and local responders.
The people of Texas, along with personnel from the Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM), have expressed deep gratitude for the support provided by OKTF-1. The team would also like to extend their sincere thanks to the residents of Oklahoma for their continued encouragement and support during this mission.
