PRESS RELEASE: OKCFD deploys additional resources for Texas flooding

The Oklahoma City Fire Department sends this information as posted below:

OKLAHOMA CITY — The Oklahoma City Fire Department (OKCFD) and Oklahoma City Police Department (OKCPD) are deploying specialized resources to assist the State of Texas in response to ongoing flooding. The request was made through the Emergency Management Assistance Compact (EMAC), and Oklahoma City will provide:

  • One Type 3 Swift Water Rescue Team (provided by OKCFD)
  • One Law Enforcement Officer and vehicle (provided by OKCPD)

This marks Oklahoma City’s second deployment to the region in support of flood operations. Crews will assist with water rescues, public safety operations, and coordination in flood-impacted areas.

While extending support to Texas, OKCFD has retained several swift water rescue technicians and boats to ensure readiness in the event of severe weather or flooding in Oklahoma this weekend.

Once the official deployment timeframe is confirmed, OKCFD will provide an update.

The Oklahoma City Fire and Police Departments remain committed to supporting regional partners while continuing to serve and protect our community here at home.
