Oklahoma City, OK — July 29, 2025 — After years of serving up smiles and pickleball matches at Chicken N Pickle, the beloved summer tradition for local nonprofit, Not Your Average Joe, is taking a bold new turn. This year, the annual fundraiser — aptly titled Not Your Average Fundraiser — is rocking the boat and heading to Riversport OKC for an all-new, action-packed experience that’s as thrilling as it is meaningful.
Set against the backdrop of Riversport’s dynamic water sports and open-air excitement, this year’s event promises to elevate the mission of inclusive play for individuals with special needs. From 6pm to 9pm on Thursday, July 29, 2025, attendees will enjoy a high-energy evening of movement-based fun, delicious Mexican food and homemade ice cream, inclusive activities, and unforgettable memories — all in support of a powerful cause.
“This is an important event for our community because it brings together people of all abilities outside of work to have fun while focusing on movement and participation. Each year, we have so many attendees tell us this is one of their favorite events of the year —it’s a joy-filled experience where they can tangibly see the impact NYAJ is making in the lives of our employees.” shared Executive Director, Tim Herbel.
Whether you’re diving into a night of play or making a greater impact through sponsorship, there’s a ticket or package for everyone:
- Dinner Ticket ($55) – All-you-can-eat Mexican buffet, desserts, and a fundraiser shirt.
- Individual Ticket ($75) – Dinner ticket benefits plus access to inclusive play activities.
- Packages start at $500 and go up to $10,000, each including increasing benefits such as event signage, logo placement, VIP dinners for employees with disabilities and their families, portable espresso bars, and exclusive Riversport activities.
Riversport offers a variety of activities including Flat Water Paddling, Surfing, Boogie Boarding, Skiing, Lawn Games, eSports, and more — all designed with inclusion in mind. Throughout the night, it is encouraged to try every activity alongside an individual with disabilities – as it is guaranteed everyone will leave with a smile on your face. To ensure your night is captured, NYAJ will have their vintage VW bus and photobooth on site!
