PRESS RELEASE: Free OKC code enforcement workshop October 16

Learn how you can engage with OKC code enforcement and other City departments to keep your neighborhood thriving at the free Code Enforcement workshop from 6-8 p.m. on Oct. 16  at the Civic Center Music Hall Meinders Hall of Mirrors201 N. Walker Ave.

“Neighborhood Alliance is thrilled to partner with the City of Oklahoma City as we offer ‘Code Enforcement 101,’” Executive Director Myron Mayberry said. “Since 1976, NACOK believes everyone deserves to live in a safe, healthy, and attractive neighborhood. Educating neighbors on city code is a key component of meeting that goal.”

A presentation will be held from 6-6:45 p.m., and people can visit with City staff from 6:45-8 p.m. Register by calling (405) 534-4040 or visiting the calendar page at nacok.org.

The event is a partnership between the City of Oklahoma City and Neighborhood Alliance. Light refreshments will be provided.

The workshop will feature information on how to report code violations and how they’re investigated and enforced. You can also learn more about neighborhood beautification programs and more.

“Maintaining and encouraging thriving neighborhoods in Oklahoma City is a City Council priority,” Action Center Manager Shameka Lee said. “Come out and meet the City employees who can help keep your neighborhood on the right track.”
