OKLAHOMA CITY – Bank of America has named Diversion Hub its 2025 Neighborhood Builder® for its work helping individuals in the criminal legal system access the direct services they need to exit the system and build pathways to stability in central Oklahoma. Bank of America’s signature Neighborhood Builders program continues to be one of the nation’s largest philanthropic investments into nonprofit leadership development, while providing unique multiyear flexible grant funding annually to high-impact nonprofits in communities nationwide.
As a Neighborhood Builder, Diversion Hub is awarded a $50,000 grant over two years, leadership training for the executive director and an emerging leader, and the opportunity to connect with other nonprofits in a peer network. Since the program’s inception, seven nonprofits have been selected as Neighborhood Builders in Oklahoma City, with the bank investing more than $350,000 in philanthropic capital into these nonprofits.
“As Diversion Hub grows to fill demonstrated community needs, we must invest in our leadership infrastructure. This grant will allow us to expand that capacity while also investing in our case managers, who offer stabilizing services to people caught up in the system,” said Meagan Taylor, Executive Director, Diversion Hub. “Our strategy is to help people end their justice involvement and build paths to prosperity out in the community. We’re extremely grateful for this generous donation from Bank of America, which enables us to meet the needs of justice-impacted individuals and families in Oklahoma.”
Diversion Hub is a nonprofit organization that connects justice-involved individuals to resources and services that help them become safe and self-sufficient members of the community. Through the Case Management program, a case manager is assigned to work alongside a client to carry out a case plan that leverages the individual’s strengths and addresses the social determinants of health, including income stability and employment, while they resolve their justice involvement. This new grant funding will allow Diversion Hub to invest in its leadership as the Case Management team grows to serve thousands more clients every year, broadening the organization’s impact in the community.
“Nonprofits play an important role during critical moments in people’s lives and serve as substantial pillars of our communities,” said Tony Shinn, president, Bank of America, Oklahoma City. “This is why Bank of America is committed to delivering flexible funding and comprehensive leadership training through the Neighborhood Builders program to help nonprofits, like Diversion Hub, address critical needs and promote economic opportunity for individuals and families in our communities.”
Neighborhood Builders is part of the bank’s longstanding efforts to build thriving communities by addressing issues fundamental to economic opportunity. Since 2004, Bank of America’s Neighborhood Builders program has invested more than $346 million in communities across the U.S. and trained more than 4,000 leaders at nearly 2,000 U.S. nonprofits.
