Bethany, OK – The City of Bethany is proud to join communities across the nation in celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month (HHM) with a special proclamation at the upcoming City Council meeting on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at 6:30 p.m. at Bethany City Hall.
Mayor Amanda Sandoval, the first Latina elected to serve as a Mayor in the state of Oklahoma, will present the proclamation recognizing the contributions, culture, and heritage of the Hispanic community.
During the ceremony, members of the Putnam City West High School Hispanic Club and the Bethany High School Hispanic Club will be present to receive the proclamation on behalf of students and families who embody the vibrancy and impact of Hispanic heritage in Bethany and beyond.
“Hispanic Heritage Month is a time to honor the traditions, values, and achievements of Hispanic and Latino communities,” said Mayor Sandoval. “It is also deeply meaningful to me, personally, to stand as the first Latina elected Mayor in Oklahoma and to celebrate this moment with our youth who represent the future of our community.”
Mayor Sandoval invites residents, families, and community members to attend this special event and join in recognizing the important role Hispanic and Latino Oklahomans play in shaping the cultural, social, and economic fabric of Bethany and the entire state.
