OKLAHOMA CITY — A person found dead after a house fire in south Oklahoma City has been identified.
Police said Monday that they are investigating the death as a homicide #41 for the City of Oklahoma City in 2025.
Thursday, Oklahoma City Fire Department companies were dispatched to a fire that consumed the contents of an attached garage and severely damaged the remainder of the home at 2237 SW 76th Street in Oklahoma City.
While fighting the fire, firefighters discovered a body and called for police and fire investigators.
45-year-old female, Kellie Slaughter, was identified Thursday by Staff Sergeant Dillon Quirk of the Oklahoma City Police Department as the one who was found dead in the residence.
The investigation is in the early stages and no arrests have been made. Anyone with information is asked to call the Homicide Tip Line 405/297-1200.
