OKLAHOMA CITY — One person is dead and one has been detained in the city’s latest homicide.
Patrol officers with the Oklahoma City Police Department were dispatched to 13 Allenhurst Avenue near the northside intersection of Hefner Road and Broadway extension around 10:44 Wednesday morning.
They were responding to reports of shots fired in the neighborhood.
When they arrived officers found one person lying in front of the residence, and a short time later detained one other person, according to Staff Sergeant Dylan Quirk with OCPD.
“It’s unclear what the role is of that person they have detained, and they’re doing their investigation work now,” Quirk told Free Press in a phone call.
A little after noon on Wednesday a number of police officers were present processing the scene.

Little other information is known or being released, said Quirk.
Quirk said that there should be more out on the homicide by Monday.
Free Press will continue to monitor this latest homicide.
