One dead after drive-by shooting on Eastside OKC

OKLAHOMA CITY (Culbertson/East Highland) — Two people were shot in a drive-by shooting Tuesday night on Oklahoma City’s lower Eastside. One died at the scene.

The death marks homicide number 46 for the City of Oklahoma City in 2023.

Officers with the Oklahoma City Police Department (OKCPD) were sent to the 1400 block of East Park Place near NE 16th and Lottie.

“Responding officers found two people hit by gunfire, one of whom was deceased,” read the OKCPD press release.

  • Don Rose, 25, died in the attack.
  • Jackie Crenwelge, 32, was wounded.

According to OKCPD, Crenwelge said the two were walking in the neighborhood when a vehicle pulled up and someone inside opened fire. The motive for the attack is not known at publication.

No arrests have been made.
