OKLAHOMA CITY — A 28-year-old man died Saturday after being shot during an altercation at an apartment complex near downtown, police believe.

The death marks homicide #45 for the City of Oklahoma City in 2025.

Patrol officers responded at about 4:05 p.m. Saturday, to the 600 block of North Stonewall Avenue east of downtown Oklahoma City, according to an Oklahoma City Police Department news release.

They found 28-year-old Davonta Mims, of Oklahoma City, with multiple gunshot wounds.

Mims was taken to OU Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, said Master Sergeant Gary Knight in the release.
