OKLAHOMA CITY — A 21-year-old man died after being shot during a suspected robbery Saturday evening in southeast Oklahoma City, police said.
Officers with the Oklahoma City Police Department were dispatched about 5:30 p.m. to a shooting near Southeast 57th Street and Bodine Drive. When they arrived, they found Ralead Juan Rex-Dean with gunshot wounds. He was taken to OU Medical Center, where he later died.
Detectives believe Rex-Dean was shot while being robbed by Christopher O’Bryan Upchurch, 18, who then fled the scene. He was later found at a residence in southeast Oklahoma City and taken into custody, according to a police press release issued Monday by Master Sgt. Gary Knight.

Upchurch was booked into the Oklahoma County Detention Center about 4:15 a.m. Sunday on complaints of first-degree murder, use of a firearm while committing a felony, and possession of a firearm after adjudication as a delinquent. Jail records show no bond has been set.
Rex-Dean’s killing is the 61st homicide in Oklahoma City this year.
