OKLAHOMA CITY — A man charged with causing the death of a five-week-old infant was arrested by U.S. Marshals in Texas Thursday.
Patrol officers with the Oklahoma City Police Department were sent to an apartment complex at 7105 S. Santa Fe Avenue in OKC on October 27, 2023, on a report of an infant “suffering a medical episode” according to a press release by OKCPD Sgt. Dillon Quirk.
The infant was Zeus Apollo Williams who had been born only five weeks before.
Officers had the infant transported to a local hospital where medical staff determined that the infant was suffering from injuries that were “consistent with child abuse.”
Five days later the infant died from the injuries and the body was sent to the State Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy.
“Crimes Against Children Investigators learned the child had been in the care of 24-year-old Xavien Hogan,” wrote Sgt. Quirk.
Then, last month, the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner ruled the infant’s death a homicide.
The DA’s office issued an arrest warrant for Hogan.
Thursday, U.S. Marshals arrested Xavien Calvon Hogan, 24, in east Texas.
