Father arrested after infant daughter dies in south OKC

OKLAHOMA CITY — Police arrested a man on a murder complaint after the death of his 4-month-old daughter, who was found unresponsive in a south Oklahoma City home Saturday.

Just after midnight, October 11, patrol officers were dispatched to a residence at 3813 S. Drexel Ave. to check on the welfare of an infant, according to MSgt. Gary Knight with the Oklahoma City Police Department.

When they arrived, officers began CPR on the baby, identified as 4-month-old Journey Carrillo. The baby was taken to OU Children’s Hospital, where she later died.

Police believe Journey was in the care of her father, Isaac Carrillo, 23, at the time she sustained fatal injuries.

As of Wednesday, Carrillo remained in custody. Formal charges had not yet been filed by the Oklahoma County District Attorney’s office.
