OKLAHOMA CITY — An Oklahoma City man is in the Oklahoma County Jail with a First Degree Murder complaint in the death of his mother by alleged neglect.
Todd Taylor, 48, was booked into the Jail late Saturday night after police investigated the death of his 75-year-old mother, Arlinda Taylor at Southwest Medical Center’s ICU that afternoon.
It is homicide #43 for the City of Oklahoma City in 2025.
Patrol officers with the Oklahoma City Police Department were dispatched to the hospital in response, alerting them to a possible elder abuse case at 8:25 p.m. on Friday, July 25.
When they arrived, they talked to the nurse who was caring for Arlinda Taylor.
“This nurse reported the victim exhibited signs of extreme elder abuse and neglect,” according to the arrest affidavit filed with the court by the OCPD.
The nurse also told the officers that Arlinda Taylor was covered in feces and had to have a bed sheet peeled off of her back from the feces, according to the affidavit.
Into Saturday, Arlinda Taylor’s condition grew worse. She was transferred to the ICU, where she died at 3:34 p.m.
“She had numerous significant injuries covering her entire body,” reads the affidavit.
Once Taylor was arrested and brought to police headquarters, he said that he was his mother’s only caretaker and that they had been living in a hotel room.
Todd Taylor in the interview, “…admitted the victim had been in her current state, with him cleaning her less, for at least the past month,” according to the affidavit.
