Arrest made in Northside parking lot shooting death

— Homicide #70 for the City of Oklahoma City in 2024

OKLAHOMA CITY — (UPDATED) Police have identified the victim in a Northside shooting death and one who has been arrested in connection to the crime.

The victim was:

  • Javier Morales, 24

The press release from MSgt. Gary Knight with the Oklahoma City Police Department states that one person was arrested and booked into the Oklahoma County Detention Center for “accessory to murder.”

  • Brooklynn Miller, 20, was booked into the Oklahoma County Jail for First Degree Murder. (Correction: Our original spelling of “Brooklyn” was incorrect. The spelling has been corrected to “Brooklynn.”)

On Saturday at 8:27 PM patrol officers with OKCPD were dispatched to a parking lot at 9001 N. Western.

When they arrived they found the body of Morales who appeared to have been shot to death.

From their initial investigation, detectives now believe that “… Morales was sitting in his car in a parking lot when he became involved in an altercation, which ultimately led to him being shot and killed.”

Also, from their investigation, they believe that Miller was involved and booked her Monday.

The death is marked as homicide #70 for the City of Oklahoma City in 2024.
