OKLAHOMA CITY – A shooting death at an apartment complex on OKC’s northwest side late Tuesday night has so far left police with no arrests as investigators work to determine what led to the killing.
Just after 10:00pm Tuesday, OKCPD responded to a call about a shooting in an apartment complex in the 4000 block of NW 23rd St, between Portland Ave and Meridian Ave.
When they arrived, they discovered the body of 45-year-old Floyd Williams already dead from gunshot wounds.
Investigators say they were to determine that Williams had been involved in an altercation in the apartment with another adult male before the shooting, but that the suspect fled the scene before police arrived.
They have not yet released any further information about the potential suspect or the fight that led to the shooting, and no arrests have been made at this time.

Floyd Williams’ death is the 30th recorded homicide in OKC for 2026 and the sixth homicide for the city this month, joining five other gun-related killings, as well as a pair of shootings near the Paycom Center on May 16th that resulted in injuries, but no deaths.
Police are asking anyone with information about the killing of Floyd Williams, or about any other ongoing homicide investigation, to call the Homicide Tip-Line at (405) 297-1200.
Note: Charges, information, or claims made by law enforcement have not yet been tested in court. Under the law, all persons are considered innocent until proven guilty before a jury of their peers or a plea of guilt.
