OKLAHOMA CITY — Police have arrested the parents of a 2-year-old girl who was mauled to death by a dog earlier this week, booking both on complaints of second-degree murder.
The victim, Locklyn McGuire, was 2 and would have turned 3 on Dec. 12.
According to Staff Sergeant Dillon Quirk with the Oklahoma City Police Department, Jordan McGuire, 34, and Darci Lambert, 24, were arrested Friday afternoon, were booked into the Oklahoma County Detention Center on second-degree murder complaints, and remain in the Oklahoma County jail as of publication. Jail records list McGuire’s first name as “Jorden,” but court records spell it “Jordan.”
Each have had their bond set at $1 million.
Police said officers were dispatched to a home at 1517 Northeast 26th Street around 11:37 p.m. Monday on a welfare check after a 911 caller reported a baby was not breathing and “had been eaten by something.”
Officers arrived to find the child already dead.
Police believe she had been mauled by one of the family’s four dogs. Animal Welfare officers took custody of all four dogs, as well as a pet rat and two pet lizards.

The Oklahoma City Police Department’s Crimes Against Children Unit responded to the scene and have been involved in the investigation.
Police announced the arrests Friday, stating the investigation led to probable cause to arrest McGuire and Lambert on the murder complaints.
Court proceedings had not been scheduled as of Friday evening.
Booking photos were not posted by the Oklahoma County Detention Center.
Note: At the time of publication, the details released by the police have not been tested in court. By law, individuals are presumed innocent until found guilty by a jury of their peers or through a guilty plea.
