OKLAHOMA CITY — Court affidavits filed Friday in Oklahoma County District Court allege that the parents of a 2-year-old girl who was killed in a dog attack earlier this month knew the same dog had violently injured the child less than two weeks before her death.
Darci Marie Lambert and Jordan Nathaniel McGuire were booked into the Oklahoma County Detention Center on complaints of second-degree murder in connection with the Nov. 18 death of their daughter, Locklyn McGuire. Monday afternoon, the Oklahoma City Police Department declared that the 2-year-old’s death was homicide #65 for the City of Oklahoma City in 2025.
According to the affidavits filed in court by detectives with the Oklahoma City Police Department, the child was left overnight in a locked room with a black pit bull named Ella—a dog both parents admitted had previously attacked her.
As Free Press reported, Patrol officers found the child dead inside the family’s home on NE 26th Street.
According to the affidavits, her body showed evidence of extreme trauma consistent with a prolonged and violent mauling. Due to the severity of the injuries, Free Press is withholding specific details.

According to the affidavits, the same dog attacked the girl on Nov. 6, causing disfiguring injuries to her head and face. Lambert told investigators that her daughter required plastic surgery following the attack and that she believed Ella was responsible.
Medical staff at OU Children’s Hospital determined the injuries were consistent with a dog bite and filed a report with the Oklahoma Department of Human Services. However, neither police nor animal welfare authorities were contacted, and the dog remained in the home.
On the night of the fatal mauling, McGuire told police he placed the child in bed in a room with Ella, who was not confined to a kennel. He said he secured the bedroom door with childproof locks to prevent the toddler from leaving, gave her a phone to help her fall asleep, and took prescription medication. Around 2:45 a.m., he said he briefly woke up and saw the child asleep at the foot of the mattress next to the dog.
Lambert told police she returned home from work around 10:30 p.m. and later heard heavy breathing or unusual noises from the bedroom. She eventually opened the door and found the child dead. She told first responders, “My daughter got ate by the pit.”
Both parents admitted they were aware of Ella’s prior attack on the child. McGuire also described the dog as unusually aggressive, telling investigators she had a pattern of fighting another dog in the home and would “go in for the kill.”
Police removed four dogs from the home, three of which appeared malnourished, according to the affidavits.
As of Monday, Lambert and McGuire remain in the Oklahoma County Detention Center on $1 million bonds each.
